Here the schedule for operation of the plant is defined: - daily operating hours, number of shifts, and days of operation per year - periods of holidays (or also: plant shut down for maintenance, etc.)

The plant operation schedule defines the time intervals where (most of) the productive processes are operating.

The plant operation schedule gives only a frame of reference. Single processes can also operate out of the general plant operation hours or on holidays.
